untitled2

As I sit here by myself,

I think of how you have impacted me.

Like a mother to an orphaned child,

you came to me in my time of need

and gave me the highest of highs

then came the turn abrupt arou--

Deception.

The manner in which you do everything,

The odds and ends

Just day to day things.

The kind of things that make you sick to your stomach,

Like someone hospitalized for appendicitis.

The tossing and turning,

The whole nine yards.

It all comes back to you,

what you did to bring me

here

to this second in time,

to who I am today.

Notes:
My poem was a bout a toubled relationship i had in my past.  It really wasn't that big of a deal, but it's what i decided to write about because i wanted to write about something i had experienced first hand.  The topic seems miniscule compared to some of the other topics people were writing about.  My poem didn't take me long to write once i got the first few lines down.  And as far as poetic devices, i used endstop, enjambment, colorful language, and similes to make my poem more interesting.

I really like this poem.  I like how it says a lot in a straight forward in your face kind of ways.  I think that this is one of those poems that you could relate to a lot of people as the reader but it is clear that it has a message that is meaningful to the writer too. I think that it is very good and that it shows a lot of emotions.
