I don't have the money to buy a beat and not enough skill to make one, but I might try making one at my house.

I don't think it could be a bad thing that musicians can find and buy beats online. It could provide ways for aspiring musicians to find a beat or feel that they may not have been able to imagine otherwise. There can sometimes be a big gap between imagining a song and actually getting it written, and Beatstars could help bridge that gap for those having trouble.

Though I think the ability to simply buy a beat can compromise the creativity in the composition world, the ability for a singer or rapper, who already has lyrics but lacks the skill necessary to create a beat, could greatly benefit. I believe that the ability to purchase beats could help and grow the music industry.

I think Beatstars is OK if used in moderation, but it removes the creativity for music. Why make your own beat if there are thousands of ones that you can use online? This might make more music the same style, which causes niche areas of music to not thrive as well.

I think it's interesting how the music industry is revolutionizing into the commercial economic industry.

This episode was interesting because it showed how simple the beginnings of many hit pop songs are. It also reminds me of how annoyingly simple some pop sogs can also be. It also highlights the many different career paths in music, and how easy but also hard it is to make it rich with something like beat stars.

I think it is great idea to be able to create and sell beats online. It allows musicians who may be a vocalist or solo instrumentalist but don't have other resources to compile different beats and create a completed final product. It makes the songwriting process easier and more convienient and beat creaters can make money.

Some people believe that websites like Beatstars are creating a generation of lazy musicians, but I disagree. I think that the beat-making industry is a good way for people who have skills in composing to make money. It has given some rappers, who do not have experience in music composition, an opportunity to pursue their interest.

I think that music like beats on beatstars will continue to revolutionize the music industry, however, many copyright issues will continue to arise around this business.

Typically when thinkig of beats, I think of the potential for songs and albums. I didn't even think of the ability to market your beats for various ad music. There is so much hidden value in the creation of music that will continue to grow creatively and financially.

I find that there are both positives and negatives to BeatStars; whereas in some ways it increases artistic expression by giving new artists the freedom to share their own creations and make some cash, I also believe that there's a chance it can limit it in a way as many artists may choose to make beats that are "relevant" or in high demand and might stray from their creative mindset or what they enjoy making solely for monetary purposes.

I think its interesting how easy it is to go and buy your own beat without creating it. I personally don't see how I would benifet from it or use it as a tool to sell my own beat in the future.

Sophia Elliott from: North Allegheny - posted: September 26, 2019
Personally, I think this is a nice thing for rappers who can't produce a beat themselves. However, I think the easy access to these beats is bad for good composers who spend hours and days and months working on excellent pieces and they don't get noticed.

Anna Partridge from: North Allegheny - posted: September 26, 2019
It was very interesting to see how people make so much money by just producing beats and posting them on the internet. I think this can even create an easier way for regular songwriters to sell their songs to other poeple.

Noah Chadran from: North Allegheny - posted: October 3, 2019
I think that the beats that are most commercial at that time are the ones that sell.  Artists want to become successful and, by hopping on the wave, are making more current music.  I think the music industry will get more and more competitive as it is easier to get ahold of current beats.  You don't even have to know a producer to release a record.  People will be willing to work even harder because of how the resources are are so readily available.

I think it is a great thing that musicians could purchase beats. This gives them a broad range of choices and could potentially make their songs better.

This is so interesting that in my free time during college I may consider making beats for some extra money.

Gabrielle Parker from: North Allegheny - posted: October 30, 2019
I think it's really cool that you can buy beats online, and people can be using the same one. It's also interesting that you can purchase it so no one else can use that beat, like Lil Nas X did with Old Town Road.

Eric Schaefer from: North Allegheny - posted: October 30, 2019
I feel that being able to purchase beats allows people that might have trouble starting get a great start to what could become a huge hit. The more peple that make and sell beats will resault in more and more music being produced.

Julia Maletta from: North Allegheny - posted: October 31, 2019
I believe selling beats online is a smart way to make money on the side, but it doesn't give the musician enough credit for their work.
