In this video, we discussed how music became more complex.  Is it better or worse?  Can you think of a song that has a high-level of compllexity?  Is it a song that anyone can listen to?

Music complexity is somewhat like inflation. It is good in small amounts, to continue innovating and creating interesting works. However, when the gap between the public and advanced music techniques widens too quickly, the music loses its appeal. It is good to continue making music complex, but one small step at a time.

While it is good that music is constantly evolving, it remain essential to evaluate the merit of previous generations of musical form. A perfect example is Bach. Baroque music is evidently outdatted at this point, but the fundamental instruction of the genius composer still remains in the legacy of music as a whole.

Music over time has evolved just as people have. If music does not evolve slowly then people willl most likley have a negative reaction to it. For example hip hop has overtime changed and heavly influenced rap music. In some ways these are very similar, but without hip hop people would have been less likley to except rap becuase rap would become to different.

I think music complexity is wonderful. It really allows anyone to enjoy a piece of music, especially those with a trained ear. There are certain songs that when I listen to, I am thinking about the technechality of the composition whereas others may just listen to it purely for enjoyment.

Music today has changed a lot over time. Not only do we have the choice of genre, but even artists are constantly change they're preference of music and mixing up the songs with making a pop song and adding rap or country and adding pop. The list goes on and on of how music today has evolved.

Musical complexity is important in measured amounts and can add to listening enjoyment. However, focusing too much on technicality can make music jarring and only appreciated by the composer themselves.

I believe that complex pieces are really cool, but can only appeal to a certain audience. I personally enjoy more complexity because it always keeps things interesting.

Music has evolved so much, especially in recent years. It's so interesting to watch the progression. As technology progresses, so does the music.

Music complexity is something that can bring in or push away listeners. It is brilliant but if taken too far it can put some music out of reach to the untrained ear.

There is such a thing as music that is to complicated. Music that is popular is usually very simple and catchy. When the music is complicated it limits the amount of people that it appeals to.

I think that complexity can be beneficial if the complexities work well together; however, adding more and more to a piece can at times ruin the simplistic nature and beauty of it in my opinion.
