I never knew this was so different from everything else on TV at the time. No laugh track, real child actors, and most importantly jazz. I find it very interesting that this was the only time you could hear jazz on TV. It was also very cool to hear this popular song minor instead.

I think part of the reason why this albulm is so memorable is because it's so different from the large majority of other holiday songs - its in the minor key and a jazz style, compared to songs in the major key and pop style. Other jazz holiday albums include Ella Fitzgerald's numerous collections of Christmas songs, including Ella Wishes You a Swinging Christmas.

I just recently watched this again, and it's incredible how well the jazz soundtrack fits in with the Christmas theme. It's truly instrumental (excuse the pun) in the success of Charlie Brown, and now the nostalgia brought back upon rewatching the show.

I enjoyed listening to the nostalgic music. My parents would play the CD every Christmas. I guess part of why "Christmas Time Is Here" resonates with me is how it's a bit melancholy and peaceful, which I often feel at the close of another year. Other jazz greats that are holiday favorites include Nat King Cole and Ella Fitzgerald.

It is incredible to think this was a part of my childhood. Also the fact that they didn't play jazz on the tv. The even better part is the minor key. This really showed me just how much we miss in our tv shows music.

I didn't even realize this was jazz. The most interesting thing though is how the bassline doesn't start on the downbeat of beat 1. I find that really interesting since it's hard to even tell that it didn't start on the downbeat

I love jazz music and think it is a great base for most holiday songs. When I think of jazz, I think relaxed and uplifting which is what most people hope for during the holiday season.

I love Vince Guaraldi's music! His work outside of the Peanuts soundtrack is great too! I think that Bing Crosby, Tony Bennett, Peggy Lee, and Michael Bublé, among others, have created classic Christmas hits that will never get old.

Some of my favorites are Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra.  I also enjoy Michael Buble.  My absolute favorite song from this recent christmas has to be I'll be Home for Christmas because Bing Crosby sings it with so much beauty and soul. It's one of my favorite

There is something very special about that is played throughout the show. I think the jazz music greatly contributes to its identiy and reputation.

I had never really thought about this song being jazz. I really enjoy this song and will more interested in looking for jazz pieces. The peanuts are awesome!

I enjoy listening to jazz often, mostly when doing homework; it is very calming at times. I have also watched all the Peanuts movies, and this was the first I had heard that the song is considered a jazz song!

Jazz music is very enjoyable to listen to. It is very relaxing. I was not aware the the song is considered a jazz song.

I do not really know an as iconic childrens movie/show that has such great music other than Mr. Rogers. I absolutley love Vincent Guaraldi and it is so amazing everytime I hear this music.

These songs are all very relaxing and mellow. The jazz is soothing compared to pop music we hear every day on the radio, and it gives you a chance to just sit back and enjoy.

Linus and Lucy is such an iconic holiday tune, unique from most other seasonal music. Michael Buble, despite not being a classic jazz artist, makes great holiday jazz music today.

Jazz music is very calming and it works great with the chritmas feel. I find it very interesting that this was the only time you heard jazz on tv.

I think Vince Guaraldi is so talented. Charlie Brown's music has such a relaxing tone to it and there's something about old piano recorded on tape that makes it feel that much more magical. This one YouTuber I love plays jazz lo-fi Christmas music, and I love that. The channel is https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1bTec-cnD0AB218-ry2WNw

This piece is a standard for Christmas because it somehow produces the warm feeling that you get from the holidays. I think jazz is great at doing this in a way no other genre is.

Bri Cobbey from: North Allegheny - posted: January 27, 2021
I can't believe that this was the only time jazz was played on TV. I'm not a huge jazz person, but I always loved listening to this during Christmas.

Who knew the Peanuts writers put so much pizzaz and spunk into their music. Linus + Lucy = iconic duo <3

Another jazzy holiday tune is Santa Baby. That is a wellknown song that most people wouldn't even realize is a jazz song. This Peanuts song set the bar for the perfect jazzy holiday song.

O Tannenbaum is by far one of my favorite holiday songs. It has the perfect tone of happiness around the holidays. I loved learning about the pianist behind this soundtrack

Every year during the christmas season, it feels like I play the same 15 carols at all of my events and gigs, so it is always refreshing to listen to a more modern and jazzy take on christmas.

Clay Sheleheda from: North Allegheny - posted: January 28, 2021
This song is a staple of every holiday season. Halloween, Thanksgiving, and especially Christmas, you will always hear this song everywhere.

Growing up, I remember despising the jazz genre because of its unconformity to rhythm. However, I soon feel in love with it (particularly the improv aspect of it), and it has been a tradition to perform jazz music with my fellow quartet members during holidays and events.

Jazz makes everything better. This album is incredible and it will always be a classic.
