I am always interested in new and unusual music pieces. Very often, I will explore the works of artists outside of the norm, and even outside of the Americas.

Beirut is an artist I have followed for some time because of his interesting sound. This song in particular is incredibly expressive (with a very cool music video), and it speaks to me in a way that other songs in the past could not.

The ukelele sound is whimsical, much like the happier side of the circus. However, Beirut's voice is so full of sorrowful emotion that you are pulled in to an internal struggle of his between this happy ukelele and his own emotions.

Plus, not to be inappropriate, but he is REALLY attractive. So I love him :) 

I want to continue this whimsical vs dark composition in my own works, though I have no idea where it will take me.
