¡Yo Soy! Officers, Board, and Members

Robert Tozier, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (2008 – present) is the founder of Yo Soy Artista.  He graduated from Duquesne with honors in 1992 with a Music Education degree and graduated from Duquesne University in 2000 with a Masters in Education with an emphasis in technology.  He has presented his music curriculum to current and future music educators both at the college and high school levels.  This curriculum is based on his certification of TI-ME (Technology Institute for Music Educators). Robert has received the following awards: May 2008 Pennsylvania Keystone Award for Technology Integration in Education, May 2006 Teacher Excellence Center - One of 100 Finalists out of 4,000 nominees from 55 school districts in southwestern Pennsylvania, June 2005 Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers - Recognized for Excellence in teaching in the 9th Edition, May 2005 Teacher Excellence Center - One of 110 Finalists out of 3,300 nominees from 60 school districts in southwestern Pennsylvania, June 2004 Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers - Recognized for Excellence in teaching in the 8th Edition, June 2003 Classroom Connect Internet Teacher of the Year - Nationally recognized as “Honorable Mention” for Innovative use of the Internet in the classroom, May 2002 Sam’s Club Teacher of the Year - Regionally recognized for Online(e-learning) Music Education Program for Music Theory and Composition.  Robert has been asked to presented his philosophy about Online Education and Music Technology at the following locations: November 2007 - PMEA District 1 Curriculum and Instruction Conference at Carnegie Mellon University, January 2006 - PMEA Region Band Festival, September 2005 - Cannon-McMillan In-service, Cannonsburg, PA, April 2004 - PMEA State Conference in Erie, PA, April 2004 - Quaker Valley In-service, Sewickley, PA, March 2004 - PMEA District 1 Junior High  District Chorus, November 2003 - PMEA District 1 Curriculum and Instruction Conference at Carnegie Mellon University, October 2002 - Washington County Music Educator’s Association at Trinity High School in Washington, PA, November 2001 - PMEA District 1 Curriculum and Instruction Conference at Carnegie Mellon University.

Thomas Mooney, Vice President (2008-present) an active Communication, Arts and English teacher at North Allegheny School District since 2002.  Thomas has been actively involved with YoSoyArista through student work submissions and the inaugural launch of the student works website.  A 2002 graduate from Saint Francis University, Loretto, PA with a degree in English/Secondary Education.  Thomas is currently working on attaining a Masters degree in Educational Practices and Theory through California University of Pennsylvania. 

Stephen Harris, Secretary (2008-present) retired in 2005 after 35 years in public education working in 3 Pittsburgh area school districts as a secondary guidance counselor.  He maintains and designs web sites for not for profit organizations including several churches and civic clubs that might not otherwise have a presence on the Internet.  He has been involved with the Macintosh computing platform since 1991 and currently teaches new users and others how to efficiently and effectively integrate computing into their workflow.  He enjoys outdoor activities especially road biking and kayaking with an emphasis on the New England seacoast.

Michael Leckey, Treasurer (2008-present) has been actively involved with the formal incorporation of Yo Soy Artista including the development of the By-Laws, Articles of Incorporation, and the filing of the Form 1023.  He is a graduate of Ohio University and is a Certified Public Accountant licensed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.  He is a member of the American and Pennsylvania Institutes of Certified Public Accountants. 

Nancy Conley, Director (2008 – present) is coming to the board of Yo Soy Artista with 35 years experience as a public school music educator.   Holding a B.S. in Music Education and a Masters in Elementary Education, both from Duquesne University, she has spent her entire career as a Music Teacher in the North Allegheny S.D.  Teaching in the areas of vocal music, general music, and 5 years in strings at the elementary level, Nancy has also been the Elementary Music Facilitator for the last 16 years for the North Allegheny S.D.

Jim Reinhard, Director (2008 – present) currently art department chair for North Allegheny School System, has been an arts educator at the elementary, secondary, and university level for 35 years.  He has conducted numerous art staff training workshops and conference presentations including service on the faculty of the Pennsylvania Governors Institute for Arts Educators.  As an early adopter of new media, he has developed a nationally recognized program in digital media for high school students as well as the use of the web as an instructional media for arts education.

Andrea Ronk, Director (2008 – present) has a Bachelor of Arts degree in dance pedagogy from Point Park University.  She has taught dance in the Pittsburgh area for over 10 years, choreographed numerous Broadway style musicals and performed in the 2009 tour of Sesame Street Live, When Elmo Grows Up.  Andrea recently completed her teaching certificate in Art Education from Carlow University.  She also founded Personal Touch Painting, where she designs and paints children's murals.  Her background in both performing and visual arts makes her an asset to the Board of Yo Soy Artista.

Walter E. Sieminski, Director (2008 – present) has been a School Administrator for the past 21 years and an advocate for the expansion of “Arts Education” for all students.  He is a member of numerous educational related Professional Organizations.  He has been the lead administrator on several technology implementation programs school and district wide.
